Freja Harima
Freja came into my life through her husband, Daniel, who also happens to be Karl's best man. I feel incredibly lucky that what started as a shared friendship quickly turned into one of my closest friendships. Freja is the perfect example of a Type A personality, and I mean that as the highest compliment. She is the person who makes sure plans actually happen, the queen of hosting, organizing, and bringing people together. If there's a dinner, a weekend away, or a celebration to be planned, you can count on Freja to make it unforgettable. In June 2026, she celebrated her magical dream wedding in Tuscany, and I had the privilege of being part of the planning process. Ever since, I've lovingly referred to her as my wedding fairy godmother. She has shared so much advice, inspiration, and encouragement throughout our own wedding journey, and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better guide. Professionally, Freja is the Harvey(or Harriet) Specter of private equity law—sharp, driven, and incredibly precise in everything she does. Once she sets her mind to something, there's no doubt she'll make it happen. Her determination is one of the qualities I admire most about her, and she inspires me in so many areas of life. Most recently, she's inspired me by being the very best dog mom to Dante. I feel so grateful to call her my friend and to have her standing by my side on our wedding day.

Emmi Malmivirta
Emmi and I most likely met during one of the many early morning practices at PHYK. We spent so many hours there together that we've probably developed enough collective PTSD from those mornings that neither of us can remember the exact moment we first met! After high school, life took us to different cities, but in recent years we've found our way back to each other. Rekindling our friendship has been one of the greatest gifts, and I'm so grateful that life brought us back together. Emmi is one of those rare people around whom I can be completely myself, whether my energy is at a solid zero or an enthusiastic hundred, she'll always meet me there. We also happen to share the exact same wonderfully terrible sense of humor, and I honestly couldn't count the number of times she's made me laugh so hard I've nearly peed my pants. She is the ultimate hype girl, but never in a fake way. Every compliment, every cheer, and every celebration comes from a place of genuine happiness for the people she loves. Emmi has an incredible ability to make sure everyone in the room feels included and is having a great time, no matter the occasion. As if that wasn't enough, she somehow balances basketball, the occasional marathon training block, being an amazing dog mom (and my personal dog mentor!), and a demanding career as a highly skilled tax expert at a Big4 firm. Spending time with Emmi feels like the warmest hug. She brings so much joy, laughter, and kindness wherever she goes, and I feel incredibly lucky to have her standing by my side on our wedding day.

Claudia Relander
Claudia, or Rellu, or Petsku (a truly loved friend comes with many names!) is someone I've known ever since I joined Honka all those years ago. Claudia is one of the most compassionate people I know. She always has a smile on her face and has a way of making everyone around her feel welcome. At first, she might come across as calm and collected, but once you really get to know her, her wonderfully goofy side shines through. Some of my favorite memories are simply laughing together until our stomachs hurt. She's also my go-to person for discussing the latest Finnish celebrity gossip, no topic is too random, and somehow we always end up having the best conversations. Claudia is also my go-to-girl to rant about everything work related as she also works in the IT consulting industry. Our friendship had a rather unusual beginning. The very first time we met, at my first-ever Honka practice, Claudia decided to lock me into a window (yes, you read that correctly!). Thankfully, things only got better from there. Today, she holds a truly special place in my heart, and I couldn't imagine celebrating this day without her by our side.
Sofia Viheriävaara
Sofia and I have become such a well-known duo that in many circles, if one of us is there, the other usually isn't far behind. She's the Yin to my Yang and, over the years, has become so much more than a friend, she has become my sister. Sofia is the kind of person who will always tell me the truth, even when it's not what I want to hear. But no matter the situation, I know she'll always have my back. That unwavering honesty and loyalty are just a few of the reasons our friendship means the most to me. She truly is the definition of beauty and brains. The beauty speaks for itself (see photo), and as for the brains, she's none other than a doctor. Our friendship began at the very same practice session at a school gym in Westend where I also met Rellu. From that day on, Sofia has been my closest ally through every stage of life. Even while living in different countries, distance has never changed our friendship. I feel incredibly lucky to have someone like Sofia in my life, a friend I can talk to about absolutely anything, she is truly family to me. It also helps that our families have become so intertwined over the years: our moms are close friends, our dads are basketball teammates, and Sofia's spouse, David, has become one of Karl's best friends. Somehow, our lives have grown together in the most wonderful way, and I couldn't imagine celebrating this day without her by my side.
Aino Vuolanen
Aino and I met during our business school prep class back in 2017(Thank you Hentunen!), and we instantly clicked. Even though we ended up studying on opposite sides of Finland, our friendship has only grown stronger over the years. Aino is one of the kindest souls you will ever meet. She has a remarkable way of making you feel like whatever is happening in your life is the most important thing in the world. Whether you're celebrating a win, navigating heartbreak, or simply overthinking your latest crush, she's always there to listen with genuine care. I couldn't even begin to count the kilometers we've walked together on our "hot girl walks," talking through life's triumphs, setbacks, heartbreaks, dreams, and everything in between. Those walks have become some of my favorite memories. Aino is also incredibly talented creatively, and she has already been an enormous help in bringing our wedding vision to life with her eye for design and beautiful visuals. Having Aino as a true friend feels like winning the lottery, and I feel so lucky to have her standing by my side on our wedding day.
